Edward’s love for art was sparked at an early age by the distinctive style seen throughout 1980s pop culture. The crazy patterns and vibrant colors seen on the tv shows, movie posters, and music videos of the era were very influential on how Edward began his creative journey. The cartoons and illustrations he saw became his first art lessons, and the people around him became his first subjects. Edward spent much of his youth doodling family, friends, teachers, and popular figures of the day.
Edward would pick up a paint brush for the first time at Grand View College where he studied both visual art and graphic design. Though he mastered many techniques, his love of illustration would continue to find its way back into his work, helping him find his unique style.
His professional journey has allowed him to create works through a variety of media. He has painted for a local furniture company, illustrated for the Des Moines Register, and has a rewarding career in graphic design. He currently resides in Des Moines and works professionally as a graphic designer/illustrator and artist.
Edward’s art has been featured in local galleries, and you can find his work locally in restaurants, as well as in Des Moines University’s private art collection.
